RtI SERVICES:
Response to Intervention services are provided in grades K-5 in the subject areas of reading, writing, and/or math. Typically, students receive small group service (3-8 students) approximately 3-5 times per week for 30 minute sessions. Several of our intervention programs are computerized. The RtI Coordinator, Diane Luscombe, works closely with students and monitors their daily progress and individualizes instruction. She administers bi-weekly progress monitoring assessments to monitor the success of the interventions.
Students at Oak Ridge Elementary school have access to several different Tier 2 research based interventions such as but not limited to:
READING:
Fast ForWord- A computerized Brain Training Program that focuses on early reading skills, phonemic awareness and comprehension skills. It also works on memory, attention and auditory skills.
Read Naturally (Live)- A computerized reading program that focuses on phonics, reading fluency, retelling, comprehension, and writing.
Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI)- An intense small group reading program, limited to 4 students in a group, typically in grades 1 or 2. Instruction is given 4-5 times a week for 30 minute sessions. Daily home-to-school reading work is requirement for all participants.
